Sangeet Samrat Khansaheb Alladiyakhan was a pioneer of Jaipur Atrauli gharana. His disciples include Pt Mallikarjun Mansur, Smt Kesarbai Kerkar, Gantapaswini Smt Mogubai Kurdikar, Pt Wamanrao Sadolikar etc. He was Darbar Gayak of Kolhapur State. His Gayaki was referred to as Anwat. |

Born in 1916 at Satara. Had his schooling up to 10th std in Satara. Later came to Mumbai for further education. Sought admission in St. Xavier's college and completed B.Sc. Joined Police force during World War II as Sub Inspector of Nadpada Police Station. Handled many sensitive cases. In 1952 RAW sought his services |

He retired in 1974 and started learning Natya Sangeet from renowned singer Pt Wamanrao Sadolikar for a year and later took taleem in Hindustani Classical Music for 22 years. During his learning an idea of celebrating Anniversary of Sangeet Samrat Khan sahib Alladiyakhan struck him and Pt Wamanrao, immediately agreed to this idea. |

In 1978 an Anniversary of Sangeet Samrat Alladiyakhan was celebrated for one day. In later years the prorgamme was gradually extended from one day to two, three and four days thereby number of performing artistes rose to 14. |
